Good Clean Fun

This series originated with a routine trip through the car wash. As I was studying the patterns and colors on my windshield, I suddenly decided to snap some photos with my phone. Noting some of the more interesting frames, I later pulled those images through various editing apps. As I experimented with different effects, I started seeing complex creatures and designs emerge through the water and bubbles. The water served as a kinetic foundation for producing vibrant, whimsical images. The great appeal of this series is leaving the initial creative springboard to chance. I simply use the images on my phone as a starting point and push along the evolution to something more interesting. As these images have an intriguing Rorschach effect, the dialogue around the perceived subject is as entertaining as the creative process. Therefore, I’ve decided it’s more interesting to simply number the images, as opposed to assigning titles. What do you see?
